The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and the largest single resource development in Australia's history. Its annual unit production is 15.6 million tonnes of LNG. The daily capacity of the domestic gas plants is 300 terajoules of gas per day. The Gorgon Project is operated by an Australian subsidiary of Chevron and is a joint venture of the Australian subsidiaries of Chevron (47.3 percent), ExxonMobil (25 percent), Shell (25 percent), Osaka Gas (1.25 percent), Tokyo Gas (1 percent) and Chubu Electric Power (0.417 percent).

The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project has been a Quintiq customer since 2014. Chevron required a capacity and production forecasting system for LNG, Condensate and Domgas production. A greenfield implementation was initiated to optimize capacity and production forecasts across multiple time horizons. The solution was implemented to provide visibility of capacity and production forecasts, key constraints, and promote sharing of information among departments.

The Quintiq solution is customizable allowing multiple time horizons and forecast scenarios to align with business requirements. User experience has improved through visualization of capacity and production forecasts and key constraints. It promotes communication across multiple departments.
